Harrisburg Senior Scholarship Information

The Harrisburg Education Foundation Scholarship was established to honor excellence through

education, arts, community service, and athletics. Four individual scholarships in the amount of

$500 will be awarded to support the academic and life goals of four fellow Harrisburg Seniors.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

This scholarship is for a Harrisburg High School senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college or

trade/technical program starting the fall immediately after graduation. A minimum GPA of 2.5

is required to apply.

Jerry McKibben Senior Scholarship Information

The Harrisburg Education Foundation is proud to honor Jerry McKibben, by creating the Jerry

McKibben Senior Scholarship. In 1973, Jerry began his teaching career in Harrisburg and

coaching at Harrisburg High School. After 20 years with the Harrisburg School District, Jerry

retired. The Jerry McKibben Senior Scholarship will continue to honor Jerry McKibben and his

love and dedication to the Harrisburg School District. Two individual $1,000 scholarships will be

awarded to support academics and life goals of 2 qualifying Harrisburg Seniors.

This scholarship is for a Harrisburg High School senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college or

trade/technical program starting the fall immediately after graduation. A minimum GPA of 3.0

is required to apply.

HOW DO I APPLY?

The following items need to be completed in order to apply:

1. Scholarship Application Form

2. Transcript (the Board will reach out to Madison Brock in the High School Counseling Office to

obtain a copy of your transcript)

3. OSAC Activities Chart

4. 500-700-word essay answering the following question:

“What part of your Harrisburg education helped or inspired you in your future goals?”

This can be about a teacher, program, course, coach, mentor, field trip, etc.

5. Letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, advisor, mentor, or boss.

APPLICATIONS DUE DATE: Completed items above should be dropped off at Harrisburg High

School office or emailed one PDF to Madison.Brock@harrisburg.k12.or.us by May 21, 2026.
