HSD Car Parade

On Thursday, April 16th, 2020, Harrisburg School District did something historically unique. Instead of students coming to school, on that day our school went to our students. There was a great deal of excitement and emotion as HSD staff started arriving at the high school parking lot. At 1 p.m., a seemingly endless stream of vehicles started heading out, led by the newest school bus in the fleet. There were signs, streamers, balloons, pom poms, teddy bears, music, a big American flag, an eagle and lots of waving and smiles. As the parade of cars rolled through the streets of Harrisburg, the students and families had prepared a surprise of their own. They greeted their teachers and staff with signs they made in preparation for this event. It truly was an extraordinary occasion.
