Dear Community Partner & HMS Families,
Harrisburg Middle School is excited to announce our 3rd Annual Education EXPO, taking place this May7th 2026 from 5:30 – 8:00. This special event celebrates months of student learning, creativity, research, and presentation skills across all grade levels. We are reaching out to local businesses and community members to ask for your support in helping us recognize the outstanding work of our HMS students.
We are seeking community sponsorship to help provide prizes for our student projects. Specifically, we are hoping to secure:
Four $50 Amazon gift cards
Four $25 gift cards
Four $10 gift cards to a local fast-food restaurant
These prizes serve as meaningful recognition and motivation for the incredible effort students put into their projects during the school year from January through May.
Here is a look at what our students are creating:
5th Grade – Wax Museum
Our 5th graders will become historical figures through in-depth research, writing, costumes, and live presentations. Each student will create a tri-fold display highlighting their figure’s life, accomplishments, and key facts before presenting to families and visitors at the Expo.
6th Grade – Pharaoh & Afterlife Project
Students imagine themselves as a Pharaoh preparing for the afterlife. They design and build a symbolic sarcophagus model inspired by an Egyptian god or goddess and write a five-paragraph essay explaining their beliefs, the mummification process, and how their preparations ensure success in the afterlife.
7th Grade – Showcase of Learning
Students will present work they are most proud of from across all subject areas. This showcase highlights creativity, growth, and reflection as students share artwork, essays, projects, and more.
8th Grade – College & Career Research Project
Our 8th graders explore future pathways by researching careers, colleges, or training programs. They will present visual displays and share what they learned about education, skills, salary, and daily responsibilities related to their chosen path.
Your support helps us celebrate student achievement and strengthens the connection between our school and the community we serve. Sponsors will be recognized at the Education EXPO and in our school communications as a valued partner in supporting student success.
